Hi, my name is Kate Simpson, I’m the functional medicine health coach here at Arizona Wellness Medicine and I just wanted to take a few moments to share with you a little bit about my background, my education, my journey into health coaching. I completed my education at the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. I feel extremely fortunate I had the opportunity to learn from some of the various instructors that teach at the Institute for Functional Medicine where several of the doctors here at Arizona Wellness Medicine attended.
Now my journey into health coaching I fondly refer to as the long way around. Like many of you I had my own health journey, it’s full of twists and turns and successes and setbacks. I spent the majority of my working career grinding it out in the Silicon Valley in the high tech arena but always just had this love and fascination with our bodies and how they function and how nutrition impacts the way that they perform and really just spurred on by this deep desire to bring health and well-being to others. I pursued simultaneously an additional career as a personal trainer and really just looking back on that time in my life it was just fulfilling. It really was just a fulfilling time in my life and I know that if health coaching in the capacity that it exists today, had it existed back then, I would have embarked on this great adventure a lot sooner. Well that is just a little bit about me and thank you for taking the time to listen and I’ll look forward to the opportunity to learning more about you in the future.
