Renée Slonaker, MS, CNS, LDN is a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist® and Licensed Dietary Nutritionist with advanced training in functional and integrative nutrition. She earned her master’s degree in human nutrition & functional medicine from the University of Bridgeport and completed the Functional Nutrition Residency Program at New Frontiers in Medicine with Dr. Kara Fitzgerald and her team of physicians and nutritionists.
Renée is passionate about uncovering the root causes of chronic health concerns through personalized nutrition and lifestyle support. Despite being active and health-conscious for much of her life, she experienced years of fatigue, stress, and symptoms that traditional medical visits dismissed. Her own journey eventually led to a diagnosis of Sjögren’s disease—and it was the functional medicine lens that brought clarity, direction, and renewed well-being. This transformation fuels her dedication to helping others feel their best.
In her clinical work, Renée partners with patients across multiple settings, using an evidence-based integrative approach that considers the whole person—their unique biology, daily habits, environment, stress load, and personal relationships. She has extensive experience designing and guiding therapeutic nutrition plans, including protocols for cardiometabolic health, elimination diets and food sensitivities, Paleo, low FODMAP and low fermentation, the Wahls Protocol, and others.
Renée has a particular passion for supporting individuals over 50 who want to stay active, strong, and adventurous. Outside the clinic, you’ll find her hiking/snowshoeing, mountain biking, camping, and exploring new places, anything that brings her outdoors and off the beaten path. She enjoys gardening, cooking and developing recipes, and connecting with people who inspire growth and positivity. With a prior background in education, she loves teaching and empowering others as they navigate their own path to wellness.
